Abstract

Nuclear proliferation remains a critical concern in the realm of global security, significantly influencing international relations, strategic stability, and regional dynamics. This paper explores the multifaceted dimensions of nuclear proliferation, examining its causes, current trends, and the resulting implications for global security. It delves into the political, technological, and economic factors driving the spread of nuclear weapons, including the role of state and non-state actors. Additionally, the paper evaluates the effectiveness of international treaties and organizations, such as the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in curbing proliferation efforts. Through a comprehensive analysis of recent case studies and security assessments, the paper highlights the potential risks associated with nuclear proliferation, including increased chances of nuclear conflict, the destabilization of regional balances of power, and the potential for nuclear terrorism. The study concludes by proposing strategic recommendations to enhance global security and promote non-proliferation efforts, emphasizing the need for renewed diplomatic engagement, strengthened international cooperation, and robust verification mechanisms
