Abstract

The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), launched by China in 2013, represents a global development strategy that has 
significantly altered geopolitical dynamics, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region. This paper critically examines the 
BRI through the lens of Indian national security, exploring both direct and indirect implications of China's 
expanding strategic and economic footprint.
